Pueblo Reservoir, June 9th

We went to Pueblo Reservoir on Saturday to do some fishing, kayaking and motor boating. My friend Jeff has a 90HP motorboat. The fishing was better at Pueblo than at 11 Mile. Paul caught a 15 inch smallmouth bass and a couple of Walleye and a small Perch. Jeff and his wife caught a couple of fish, too. A beautiful day meant lots of boats on the water which created lots of waves. It was a good experience for paddling around in the kayak. The west end of the reseroir has lots of birds in nests high up in some trees in the middle of the reservoir. I guess they’ve been there since before the reservoir existed and were along where the Arkansas River flowed before the river was dammed.
