Well, my U13 team played in Pueblo, this last weekend. It was our first tournament together as a team, We won two games and lost one, but didn’t accumulate enough points to advance to the championship game. We ended up in fourth place out of eight teams. The photo shows Paul in the goal during the last game. I think that the ball came down his way twice the entire half.
Lisa took Joshua and a teammate to Las Vegas for the Coach’s Classic Soccer Tournament during the weekend of February 17th, 18th and 19th. His team had one win and three losses. It was a high level college showcase tournament . . . or so we’re told. Seems like they had a great time. It was quite crazy on the “Strip” since the NBA Allstar game was going on. Lots of gangs and cops everywhere. Lisa was able to meet one of the Griffin girls from the old neighborhood who has been living in Vegas for something like 15 years. The photo shows Joshua going up for a defensive header.
Well, we’ve returned from our trip to Ft. Myers beach. Haven’t been there before and we had a very nice time. Even though there were tornados in other parts of Florida, our weather was pretty decent. On the first day I got sunburn while eating lunch at one of those dockside seafood restaurants, and cruising around in the Mustang, but thankfully the weather was warm and cloudy on the other days. Plenty of slow walks on the beach looking for shells and soaking in the warmth, it was a pleasant change from the cold wether we’ve had in Colorado. We also visited Lover’s Key State Park searching for manatees and a wildlife refuge on nearby Sanibel Island. It was a bit breezy most of the time, but I don’t know if that’s typical for the Gulf side of Florida. Check out our photo album from this trip.
